Since 2011, (and since 2009 for Europe) the approaching years are the 70th anniversaries of US participation in World War II. No event in the 20th century has changed the world so and World War II deserves much more attention for what was accomplished then and what it has made the world today. Most US History classes cover World War II in 2-3 weeks, which, in my opinion, is not nearly enough time to devote any attention to all the wonderful stories that occurred throughout the war. An elective class focusing on World War II would be a nice addition to any Social Studies program.

Designing and developing an elective class is a challenging and demanding undertaking. If you are lucky enough to work in a school district that would allow a new elective to be added to your high school curriculum, I will be more than happy to help you put together a proposal and help you design a class that will fit your individual school district’s schedule and calendar.
